Frequently Asked Questions (FAQ)
 
This document is intended to provide answers to some commonly asked questions regarding FDICconnect. It is divided into two topics as follows: (1) General FDICconnect and (2) Password Issues. Additional assistance may be obtained by contacting your FDIC Point of Contact (FDIC POC) or the FDICconnect Help Desk. You may contact the FDICconnect Help Desk by email at FDICconnect@fdic.gov or by telephone at 1-877-275-3342 and choose Option 4.
 
 
General FDICconnect
 
What is FDICconnect?FDICconnect is the Internet channel for invited institutions to conduct business and exchange information with the FDIC. The secure web site is maintained and operated by the FDIC.
 
Do I need any special equipment or software to use FDICconnect?To use FDICconnect, we recommend using Firefox 4.0 or higher for Windows or Internet Explorer version 9.0 or higher for Windows. The application may be used with other browsers and operating systems, but has not been tested with them. If you are receiving an error message concerning FDICconnect access, please contact the FDICconnect Help Desk using one of the following options:
  • Send an email to FDICconnect@fdic.gov. Please include your full name, the name and address of your institution, your email address, and your work phone number.

  • Call toll-free 1-877-275-3342 between the hours of 8 a.m. and 8 p.m. Eastern time, and choose Option 4.
I need access to FDICconnect? What do I do?FDICconnect is accessible only if your institution is a member of the FDICconnect system and you have a User ID. To register for a User ID, you will need to complete the FDICconnect registration process by contacting your FDIC POC.
 
I am having trouble with FDICconnect? Who should I contact?If you are experiencing transmission issues or other FDICconnect problems, you should contact the FDICconnect Help Desk using one of the following options:
  • Send an email to FDICconnect@fdic.gov. Please include your full name, the name and address of your institution, your email address, and your work phone number.

  • Call toll-free 1-877-275-3342 between the hours of 8 a.m. and 8 p.m. Eastern time, and choose Option 4.
Password and User ID Issues
 
If someone forgets their User ID, what should they do? Should they register again?If an account holder forgets their User ID, the account holder should send an email requesting the User ID information to the FDICconnect Help Desk at FDICconnect@fdic.gov. Please include your full name, the name and address of your institution, your email address, and your work phone number.

The information will then be emailed to the email address on record for the account holder. Reregistration is unnecessary.
 
When the system is not responding to my User Name and Password, what should I do?The account holder should email a request to unlock their account to the FDICconnect Help Desk at FDICconnect@fdic.gov. Please include your full name, the name and address of your institution, your email address, and your work phone number. Please note if you were locked out while trying to answer the secret question on the password reset screen.
 
I forgot my password, how can it be reset?If you have forgotten your password, it can be reset by following these instructions:
  • Click on the Forgot Password link on the main FDICconnect screen.

  • Provide your email address and User ID.

  • Click the Submit button.

  • Provide the answer to your secret question. The field is not case sensitive.

  • Create a new password. (Passwords MUST meet 3 of the 4 requirements listed and cannot contain your first name, last name, or User ID.)

  • Click the Submit button.

You should see a screen confirming your password change. The system will email you a password reset PIN number which you will need to provide the next time you sign in. Should you need to reset your password again, the initial password reset PIN will not work.

I just received my password reset PIN number. What do I do next?To use the password reset PIN, follow these instructions:
  • Click the Sign In link. You will be asked to provide your User ID and password which you created when you submitted the Registration Form.

  • Click the Continue button on the Security Notice screen.

  • Input the PIN from the email message you received.

If you correctly input all of the required information, you will be given access to the Business Center site.
